Rudbeckia Maxima, Turning Heads at the Park

I can’t say enough great things about this sun worshiper. I planted several in a different garden, many years back, and they were left on their own to survive. And survive they did! This plant loves full sun and will lean a bit when it feels the cast of the shade.
It’s drought resistant once established (baby it the first year).
The base of the plant, while often hidden in a lushly planted garden, is adorned with generous blue-gray leaves. The flowers are yellow and bursting with seeds which the birds relish.
I leave mine up late into the fall, and sometimes through winter. The height of the spent seed heads gives the garden a nice touch of winter interest.
